I'm late again so i slip in the last pew, they read scriptures and pray the rosary too!
I try to understand whats going on, I listen ... they say he's forgiving and kind at heart I look up and he's looking at me from up on that cross, I listen and he tells,
"Come to me. I want you to be with me in Paradise."
and i say
"But how? If what Ive heard is true then you've seen me. How can i deserve you or heaven?"
He smiles,
"I laid down my life your your and everyone else's sins. You can be forgiven, but you have to want it."
So I'm sitting in the back pew thinking...about the drugs and the drinking.
"I do want to go to heaven I really want to change."
"OK your forgiven, but you have to promise to follow my ways! You have to spread my word and talk to me everyday. People might hate you but you will be with me in Paradise when your time comes."
"OK thank you Lord! I will! I will!"
A couple years had passed and I was beginning to think
"Why wont he send someone in need to me? I've spent these past years praying and reading the bible what's up? What's wrong? I want to do something more"
Then one day I was walking down the street and I see a young man standing on the edge of the nearby bridge.
I run to him and put my arms around him and brought him back from the edge. I told him that he should think again about jumping.
"The Lord loves you and always has. The devil is just trying to ruin you life. Turn to the Lord."
He listened then told me his story. It was full of betrayal and hate.
"I've been there, I know what your going through. I also know that if you turn to the Lord you will never be the same. I would know I turned away from the drugs and the drinking!"
That day a life was saved physically and spiritually! And since then I've helped 2 other people and every Sunday I pray beneath the steeple.
