Tragedy

by tainted melody   Apr 23, 2011

When you are but five years old,
and laughter is your life,
You only know what you are told,
unaware of pain or strife.

How quickly those years fade,
when reality strikes with force.
Daddy isn't getting paid,
marriages ending in divorce.

When trials abound,
and friends are scattered,
When sadness is found,
and love is shattered.

Broken glass on the ground,
faces dark and grey
Silence is the only sound.
Begging for another day.

(unfinished)...This has nothing to do with my life personally, just sick of seeing nothing but tragedy.

That was so well written. A poem everyone can relate to because like you stated, tragedies are happening everywhere. It really gives your heart a squeeze, 5/5.
