Do You See Her?

Do you see her?

That girl in black?
The one with the heavy metal/screamo music blasting out of her earphones?
The one with tattoos, piercings, and a motorcycle?
The girl with colored streaks in her hair?
The girl with heavy eyeliner on?
The girl covered in scars of her pain and loss?
She may not look it, but she's insecure.
That girl may not act like she does, but she truly hates herself.
She's mad at the world.
She has problems controlling her anger.
She actually has feelings. She feels pain.
She's mad at the people who call her "emo" and tell her to cut herself.
She is mad at herself for using that dull blade to make impressions in her skin.
She is mad at herself for making her loved ones hurt.

That girl is ME.

Do you see me?

I'm the one in black.
I'm the one with the heavy metal/screamo music blasting out of my earphones.
I'm the one who wants the tattoos, piercings, and a motorcycle.
I'm the girl with heavy eyeliner on.
I'm the girl with cuts on me from my pain and loss.
I may not look it, but I'm insecure.
I may not act it, but I truly hate myself.
I'm mad at the world.
I have problems controlling all my anger.
I actually have feelings. I feel pain.
I'm mad at the people who call me "emo" and tell me to cut myself.
I am mad at myself for using that dull blade to make impressions in my skin.
I am mad at myself for making my loved ones hurt.

Do you see her?
No. You probably don't.

Do you see me?
No. You probably don't.

I'm that girl.

    I was that girl, but I made myself start to feel better, and have more confidence. I still wear heavy makeup, and my wardrobe is mostly black, but thats not "emo" its just me. =) great poem by the way.
