Silence reigns throughout the black skies above,
The cold air remains crisp and still.
Clouds gather to cover the moonlight,
Alone she sits without anyone to hold her tight.
Hopelessly peering into the vast and wide sky,
Waiting to take advantage of that sweet moment.
She holds her face solemnly up to the moon,
Wondering if her Knight will rescue her soon.
Noticing a wet warmth that covers her face,
She embraces the sudden release of pain.
Soft cries seep out that were long buried,
Never able to escape the years it was carried.
Finding herself on the floor in a fetal position,
She lay exposing herself to thoughts forgotten.
Every burden she endured swarms her mind,
Constantly thinking about when it is her time.
