Remember

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 26, 2011

=

Somehow we were on fire,
walking along the edge
of life's most dangerous
tempest....
and we emerged unscathed-
with only scars of passion
to reveal before light.

Though we haven't spoken much
but common phrases and pointless names,
I let myself glance in your eyes
to show you there is more than emptiness-
meaningless conversations
can become pregnant life,
flames leaping out of our souls.

Give me one more second
and you will see my depth,
what I hold for you.

The first three lines in the second stanza really stuck out the most for me, I thought it was beautifully written and really held so much meaning. The entire poem held a lot of meaning, and you have so much written simply that the emotion is so easy to delve into.

That ending, just give me one more second...ohh, it broke my heart. All it takes is just a look, a touch, anything you can do in that one second to see and prove the depth and love. Beautifully written!
