Other Days

by Beautiful Chaos   Apr 28, 2011

I thought of a world that existed once
My mind melted into the past
The air smelled of youth and innocence
Mixed with the sweet stench of spring tulips

The suns rays were not daunting, but joyful
My spirit longed to dance inbetween
Taunting the rays to kiss my skin
To awaken all that has been forgotten

Hidden desires to live and see
To soak in the unknown with wonder, not fear
Or even in spite of fear
Like the innocent heart, once posessed

Again poet you contain so much in your words that is unspoken yet cries out.
The comparison between the wanton innocence of youth and the concerns and legacy of aging, are marked. We all love the sunshine and as children revelled in the warmth of it. Only to find we were running a gauntlet of future ills. This same metaphor can be, and is applied to every aspect of the game of life. I really enjoyed this.
