Battling Your Demons

by Forever Broken   May 2, 2011

These walls you've built around you

to try and save yourself

They've only made you colder

always refusing help

Darkness surrounds those walls

drowning out all the light

A single soul left broken

with no will left to fight

your tears they became rivers

drowning you in pain

any efforts to stay afloat

were all made in vain

I stumbled upon your prison

wanting to set you free

but with eyes covered by darkness

my help you could not see

I fought my way to you

battling webs of lies

broken hearted memories

and demons in disguise

I finally reached the bars

they would not bend or break

finding strength within yourself

is what freeing you would take

I reached for your hand

begging you to fight

crying for you to dig down

so i could help you find the light

suddenly a demon

struck me from behind

a copy of your body

controlled by his mind

Fury raged inside you

as he pinned me down

crying out for help

as i fell to the ground

I heard a piercing scream

as my sight began to fade

i felt a flash of heat

stemming from your rage

When I woke again

your arms held me tight

no longer bound and broken

you found the will to fight
