What you Expect

by NineteenMinutes   May 13, 2011

I know what you want from me
But I must confess
I cannot be your Saviour
I can only try my best
And although you're disappointed
I know that you can see
That I cannot change the fact
That I am only me.

I know what you need from me
But it I cannot give
To give myself completely
Would mean I could not live
And although you're surely angry
At my failure to comply
You must at least acknowledge
That I do my best to try.

I know what you expect of me
And what it is you desire
But both of us know it is unreasonable
I cannot walk through fire
I try and try again for you
Even though you never try for me
And I know I disappoint you
By just being all I can be.
