Your Dying Heart

by L1zz Astaroth   May 14, 2011

You said you'd love me forever,
you said you'd never let me go,
but when I need you the most,
all I see of you is your tracks in the snow.

You've left me behind to fend for myself
to wonder when you'll come back,
I don't want to live in darkness anymore,
I give you the love that you lack.

Your dying heart can not compare
to my shattered one
the last words I will give you
are my final "I'm done"

The taste of poison laces my warmth
and steals away my color
and I doubt anyone will notice
the spot of blood on my collar

the trail sliding down the corner of my mouth
and down my neck
as i no longer feel
the raven's sharp peck
