A shallow breath is all we take
And you can't help us it's too late
Cries for help heard around the world
"if we could help we swear we would"

We pray for better days
Tomorrow will find its way
Through the stormy weather
Walking a lonely road
No one standing by our side
No one to hold

A shallow breath is all we take
trying to keep our mind off the hardships
putting faith in God while falling
And everyday, we see the struggle
but in our dreams we can see a day
where we can't heal without each other
You don't have to live in fear
you don't have to cry
Here's the day I pray you'll heal
so don't say goodbye
And as we age, we fade
Together lost, like slaves
praying for better days.

They took the life that we used to live
the innocent faces on all our kids
with thoughts so pure we can't forget
All the pain and loneliness
Lord knows we try
Holding back these tears and all our cries
we know our voices are heard
but no one seems to understand a word
The loneliness increases
with every red vein in our eyes

A shallow breath is all we take
We live to survive, survive to live
Occasionally, a half smile can be found
In every life, there are good and bad times
sometimes more bad than good
We just have to hold on
even when there's nothing
All of these nothings
can add up to something
Self-fulfillment and value
is more important

It's true what they say
"Life is bittersweet"
even through all the pain
there still are huggable memories
Times are difficult
but when are they not?
Time goes by
and so must we
We can't keep giving up
when fighting back is all we can do

Seen too many tears in our time,
left us praying for better days.

The most deserving of all praise
I pray for better days
I don't need anyone else

The only one I call
When all hope is gone."
