Breath

by Colm   May 16, 2011

Above my bed in time with the sway
of curtains caressed by night's breath,
the blue and gold elongated diamonds of
undefined light shimmered on the wall,
I had never seen their presence before -
You raised your arm to tickle them with fingertips,
and I dreamed I could catch their light to feel
their weight in my palm. I would give them to you
in a golden necklace that matched your freckles -

I dreamed your vodka breath would rest longer
on my flush cheek, and that the night
would anchor itself in my dream,
I dreamed you were grey and shriveled,
short of breath and collaring a diamond necklace.
The curtains were swaying in their delicate waltz
as I made myself a statue, and held my long breath
and dreamed I could give you my dream.

'and dreamed I could give you my dream'.....wow i love this line the most. To weave a dream for someone else perhaps to let the person know just how much they really mean, is touching. All in all, a wonderful piece here.

Although a wee late, congrats on the win. :-) Peace.

    Grace.
