The words are unspoken
but it is thick in the air,
so thick we almost choke
we try to denie it because it is not fair,
but as we listen the stories told by SPM, we know it is there.
the truth is
we are scared.
the truth is we wish these stories were not our fathers reality.
we are scared because with the click of a trigger,
we know our father can become,
what the police will call a justice consequence for what the gang banger has asked for.
we know his case will become a file, never given more than a glance.
and although these words are unspoken,
it is oh, so heavy upon a daughters heart.
