Except

by Sunshine   May 16, 2011

I love you, except that everything
I fall in love with is a fantasy,
and you are way too realistic for
my imagination to function.

A poem, except that everything I
write you is a prose, that starts
with a lump and dies with a pause...

WoW, this is a good one !

I like short writes, and yours is nothing less than inspiring .... especially the ending perfectly crafted and it suits the fact that your write is actually short ! =)

    Nice Work !!

I enjoyed this piece. sometimes love can make us see what's not there. I loved the ending, wrapped your poem up nicely. As always brilliant work!

Those first two lines are such a brilliant opening, I loved them! It gave such strong sense of love and hope with the simplicity of "I love you", but then you crash it down showing that it must be your imagination. Gave an unexpected twist! :)

I LOVE that ending, starts with a lump (awesome display of emotions, with shyness and anxiety) and dies with a pause...that awkward "stop" that you just don't know what else you can possibly say without sticking your foot in your mouth.

    Lovely poem, Nana :)
