Stupid Destiny

by Pykey   May 17, 2011

By my fingertips I gripped,
Muscles locked with tension.
Shoes torn, clothes ripped,
Too stressed out to mention.
Now I fear my end is nigh,
Because I chased it up too high.

All the people below,
A mile, or there about,
As a trampoline they show,
"Jump, jump", they shout.
But they don't understand,
What they've got at hand.

I shouldn't have chased it.
Silly old cat anyway.
Only I liked it,
And now the price I have to pay.
And as I can't go back to heal,
There is no other choice, I feel.

I didn't sense my hands let go,
Just the wind against my face.
The joyous peak of it was so,
Relief I felt for my embrace.
Relief that filled all spots of fear,
Death was nothing, if not mere.

And as I neared my stupid destiny,
I felt not stupid as I was free.
