RIP Walter

by Zoe Rose   May 20, 2011

I wish someone could see the family you used to be
You more than just a dog to me
The member who knew just when I was down...
Who would come an lay by my side
The slobbery kisses
The big old wet nose
The barks I could never forget
I lost a dog about two years ago
The gentle soul who would lay his head upon my knee
And share his silent thoughts with me
He's never there to here me when I call
No longer to catch the ball
You were abandoned, tormented before you came...
Came walking to my hand
In need of someone
You were my savior
The one I could lay with an cry
You were there to lick the tears that fell
I'll never forget the day I lay with you on the floor
The day I remember so clearly
All because the next day... My mom said you were gone
I couldn't take no more
I want my family member back
I shall not fear the dark
I know you'll be there to greet me with that bark
