blue and beautiful.

so bright and white.

strong and caring.
The way it made me linger,
like you had some control,
power over me.

as if
I were walking on air.

and I loved the way

I fell for you
and you
were supposed to catch me.
But instead
I landed,
I landed hard.
I remember
feeling dazed and stunned.
I lay on the ground,
hard and cold.
I tried to get up
but I couldn't move.
I remember
calling out to you.
I looked up
to see you
standing over me.

your eyes.
I will never
forget your eyes.
When I looked into them
there was nothing.
All the compassion
and caring were gone,
replaced,
now cold, empty,
and uncaring.
There was no love in your eyes.
