The Lover's Paradox.

by Charli   May 24, 2011

This seems so pefect;
Right in the light were I can see you curl your lips
and watch as you lean into kiss
me. Its as if time is standing still for us here;
get through the week with a heavy heart of lead
until summer brings me back into your arms.
With emotion so strong where before I could swear
I was dead!
You're my lover, my friend, my sweetheart;
Don't go.
If I was happier I would be soaring and breaking
every rule they'd ever made; gravity, for one.
And yes, before she asks
"it is love."
So don't listen, please; for my sake if not your own.
What we have is the sweetest thing,
I promise you never to believe
in anyone but us.
I love you,
But every sinew and every ounce of longing, and lust.
Please have faith in me;
I'll be there for you to catch you, if you'll only have a little trust.
