London

by Charli   May 24, 2011

Through the houses row on row
The peripatetic man doth flow
Calls of fear and calls of shame
In pollution, falling rain

Faces passing by the score
Forgetful eyes and broken laws
The street is bright and adversely coy
Tepid hopes that life destroyed

Blackened footfalls in the grass
You chance to find, it will not last
Another building will shoot up
Because a million was not enough

In the moonlight falling here
Open you heart to collateral fear
That London bought with a commercial hand
Let the city now disband

One for all, and all for one
The billboards shining in the sun
Beneath the wall is black with soot
Lay the monotonous semblance foot.
