The Magic of Make-up

by PinkyPrincess   May 24, 2011

Dab concealer under your eyes,
to hide the puffiness from your tears.
Sparkle some eye shadow on your lids
to uplift your furrowed eyebrows.

Add some blusher to your cheeks
to brighten your dull, mistreated skin.
Smear vibrant lipstick onto your lips
and smile widely with your teeth.

Cover your scars and blemishes
with concealer and foundation.
Curl your lashes and apply mascara
to make your eyes look dazzling.

Make-up is the perfect mask,
a beautiful disguise for the hurt.
Make-up can be your best friend;
a temporary band-aid to a bleeding wound.

Make-up is so beautiful, makes it odd that it could be used for such things, i like this :]
i like that it was written in the form of directions, like it would be a sad daily routine.
then you ended it on like a so very true, figuritive note

This poem was awesome! When I saw the title i thought interesting and when i read the poem i was blown away. I loved how you used the idea of makeup in a sad and emotional way. Very well done.
