I go from dark to light
Searching for a girl so bright
But I keep running always
And finding out through days
That the girl is far away.
I see a glimmer of hope
From day to day and cope
Against the will of many woes.
I have a bright lantern
So that I know I'll find her
Wherever she might go.
Afraid or weak I'm not
From the search I'll never stop
Until I find my happy baby
With the bright smile of ivory
And the pretty skin of ebony.
I know my sweet lady
Is trying so hard and maybe
As she walks she'll heal with me
To be the woman that she can be.
I don't push or pull this girl
And never would in all the world
Because her strenght is there
Beneath her pretty hair
And I know someday I'll touch her heart
Knowing she is very smart
Since love always finds its way
Like a magnet flying away
With direction that wont sway.
I write words to help her heal
But never fear
A soul's new life is near.
