The City of Rain

Welcome to the City of Rain
Where everyone used to be humane
But now they've all gone insane
They're all addicted to cocaine

Good days were frequent and bad days were rare
But now every thing's reversed and nobody cares
Everyone has changed
But why should they care, they have nothing left to gain

And poor little Miss Jane
She used to be so pretty and plain
But now she's too busy
Shooting up cocaine through her veins
Don't even see her life being washed down the drain

She's all high strung and withdrawn
Broke and raun
But it doesn't matter now, she's too far gone

She died before the sun raised
There were no cries or goodbyes
Only vultures flying in the skies
And raggedy people staring with dilated eyes

Acting like every thing's fine
They're all nothing but lies
The devil in disguise

If only the people were wise
And wondered why they live the way they do
Then maybe their lives wouldn't be so screwed

But there ain't nothing I can do
Nothing that I can renew
Distraught people always misconstrue
A storm's about to brew
But the people already knew
Trapped in their own eternal chains
This is the City of Rain
