Along the Longshore

by Thomas Pender   May 30, 2011

A pool within
beckons now
for the sky
Here in this courtyard
unsullied
by the world
I lave misfortunes
from my eyes

A cobbled road
reaching on
for the sea
here on this bank
untouched
by hand of man
I drop stone hardships
from my hands

A sheen of sand
gleaming there
along the longshore
here on this dune
unreached
by rising tide
I lose remorses
from my ears

A waning moon
shining here
for the darkness
here in this light
undimmed
by dawning sun
I hang tomorrows
in my hair
