Relinquish Me

by QuietDreamer   May 31, 2011

At first I believed it brief,
but as time wore on
this feeling inside me grew
Into an obsessive passion for you.

Rarely does a day transpire
where you do not captivate my every thought
And if it does, you always appear at night
Infecting my every dream.

My heart beats your name
louder the longer we're apart,
faster when I dwell on you.
My heart aches to feel your beat

Every tear I shed falls for you
Becoming more painful with every drop
until I can bare no more, collapse;
and fall asleep for another night

But even in sleep I am not safe
You violate my dreams,
Deceit my heart into believing
a future for us is plausible.

My mind, my torturer
For I cannot silence it
And chant all day it does
Reciting your name, over and over again.

I grow weary of this spell you cast
Relinquish your power over me
Let me be free, live independently,
Let me rest in peace.
