A Thought

Everyone got scared when I started drinking heavy
But I wasn't drunk when I wrecked my Chevy.
It wasn't the booze that made me loose my mind;
It was caring so much, then being left me behind.

We'd see our friends screw up,
We'd say when we grew up,
It'll never happen to the rest of us,
But hell, it happens to the best of us!

I wish I wasn't so blind at the start.

Just like waiting my turn at that the gallows
The only one to depend on is my shadow
