A Pearl and a Diamond

by A lonely soul   Jun 1, 2011

I see a pearl in the sky, invisible to the naked eye
A rare gem in my mind's eye, way more valuable
than that glittery diamond in a star studded sky

A pearl so soft, so gentle, so lovely
that my eyes melt and the soul wants to fly
A diamond so shiny, so sharp (rough), so hard
that it cuts my heart and bleeds my soul

If I had to, I will choose a pearl over a diamond
to love, to cherish and to serenade every day

Brain over beauty, naivety over hypocrisy
No wonder why I chose a white rose over a pink
On Valentine's day to show my love for the
softest pearl of my daydreams.
