Poetic Disgrace

by HealingHearts   Jun 5, 2011

He knew it, she knew it,
Everyone saw,
How love so strong: once a blessing,
Could become the worst curse of all.

He'd pull her in and hold her tight,
Not just her being, but her heart,
He told her how much he loved her, how he cared,
Then he faded part by part.

She stood silent, watching as
The joy gave way to pain,
How could he stay? She knew he'd leave,
She'd seen it time again.

The other girls - yes, there were more,
They'd known his promising smiles,
They'd make him laugh, and watch him as
He vanished for the coming miles.

But she, somehow, she was different.
Things with him would always fall into place.
Together, they were a masterpiece.
Apart, a poetic disgrace.
