A Little While

I want you to hold me tight
until we feel each others heart beat
I want you to sit with me while the sun sets
high in the mountains is where we'll meet

I want to dance with you
in the cool summer nights rain
look at me like I matter
never once guessing if I'm still sane

I want to run with you across a field
only to collapse in a patch of wallflowers
laugh with me as we look for cover
when Summer sheds it's sporadic showers

I'll stand with you when things go wrong
Even if you just need to be embraced
With our eyes interlocking
and our fingers interlaced

When we sit there just talking
I get this nervous feeling, but do I dare
I'll close my eyes and go for a kiss
but only do it if you truly care

I want to sit with you under a full moon
On starry night not a cloud in sight
my summer would be perfect
just let me be your white knight

But most of all I want
for you to make me smile
make me feel like I'm good enough
even if it's only for a little while
