She Can Call You Her Own

by DirtRoadGirl   Jun 8, 2011

I see the way you look at her,
And it makes me want to cry.
Blue eyes so filled with love,
And hugs that hold her tight.

She's one lucky gal,
I bet she doesn't even know;
How lucky she is,
That she can call you her own.

And jealousy it engulfs me,
And makes me hate her so.
It's not her fault though,
I'm the one who let you go.

My own eyes so filled with hurt,
And tears I'll leave unshed.
I was so broken and no good for you,
Something you will not understand.

I'm well aware of the the pain I caused,
When I said my last goodbye.
You'd never believe me though,
If I told you the reason why.

I loved you then,
I love you now,
And I always will.
But my love would get you nowhere,
And so I let you go.

It was never you my love,
It was always me.
A love who leads to nothing,
But a dead end street.
So you see my heart,
With no place for you to turn around,
I had to set you free.

Because broken girls are good for nothing,
Except for fights and tears.
I love you so,
And miss you always.
But this is for the best.
Trust me darling,
This is something you won't regret.

And I see the way you look at her;
It makes me want to cry.
Blue eyes so filled with love,
And hugs that hold her tight.

She's one lucky gal,
I bet she doesn't even know;
How lucky she is,
That she can call you her own.
