Goodbye

No matter how many times,
You say those words to me,
I know thats all they are,
All they'll ever be.

You don't really mean them,
You don't say it from the heart,
You say it because you think you have to,
Like you have from the start.

I know you'll never feel it,
Not like you did for her,
I accepted it long ago,
It never really hurt.

I guess its not for me either,
No matter what I wish,
I just cant feel like that,
Were both just being selfish.

Holding on together,
Hoping feelings change,
Saying I love you everyday,
The feeling is just strange.

I cant go on living like this,
This whole thing has been a lie,
I'll miss the time we spent together,
But I guess this is goodbye.
