Three Hidden Faces

by Hurtingsoul   Jun 15, 2011

They were just three
Each one masking,
A different feeling
A different story-

The first one hid
Something wet
Barely unshed,
Tears

God
Only knows
The pain and regret
On her face wishing to be seen.

The second one concealed
A chilling little smirk
What about?
Pleasure,

Desire,
To murder.
What!? How could she?
Your fear is why she's masked

The third one obscured
Hundreds of scars
Recent and-
Old

Eyes
Colored blue
Are the only ones
That know the beatings she suffered.

All three bow their heads
Because if the world knew
The faces behind the veils
All hope would be lost.

This was definitely a winning poem. I could picture everything you were describing. It was very moving. And the last verse was a very strong and perfect close! Loved it all! Great job! :)
