What If?

by Freeze Tyler   Jun 23, 2011

What if..
What if the world were really flat,
And the other side held the secrets of the deep blue sea?
The heavens bellow and the hell above,
In parallel configuration to nations
Conquering the chess board playing field.
What if all of the people in the world were friends?
What would happen to the ideas that bend and morph
Around the differences of opinion?
Where would change stop and solidification begin?
What if all the rain drops were candy drops and gum drops,
Instead of gun cocks and grave plots and bank vaults?
Oh, what a life that would be.
What if all the graffiti and vandalism,
Were inspirational quotes instead?
No longer would we see vulgar materialism
On concrete blocks, but vast expansion of smarts.
What if instead of prayers in dire situations,
People recited poetry,
And instead of drawn out court cases,
Problems were solved instantly?
What if the brand names didn't show class
But instead showed people too scared to act,
And too lazy to clothe themselves?
And what if every man ruled his house
With a stone fist and a loving heart,
Fast to give his kids a good foundation,
And the loving to start?
We'd have kids on higher levels,
Instead of fat kid gamers and rebels
Trying to raise test scores instead of wreaking havoc
Against society because they're growing up poor,
And uneducated.
What if the poor didn't adore the welfare
They were on and didn't exploit it for more?
What if society knew what it was striving for,
Instead of just striving for more?
What if kids were able to grow on the concrete blocks they were raised on,
And had good mannerism and knew how to behave,
And make a difference in a world filled with coins but no change.
What if people knew the political process
And didn't try to manipulate it, but eradicate it?
What if people didn't vote of looks,
But the political policies?
And what if the people stopped voting
For people for a singular policy,
And looked at them for who they are trying to be?
What difference would that make
And what change would we see?
If all the questions had answers,
And all the politicians were not fearsome.
All the world is filled with problems,
And the only thing we can ask is:
What if?...
