Nursery rap

by Michael D Nalley   Jun 28, 2011

I grew up with Mother Goose rhymes
Sugar and spice and everything nice
Ding dong bell in the well charmed chimes
Blending in with the three blind mice

You know, Mary had a little lamb
Its fleece white as fresh fallen snow
Though I really did not give a damn
Where she went, or where it was sure to go

Is there any literature void of any drama
Since we have opened Pandora's box
Our imaginations runs wild in a Panorama
Of the three bears conflict with Goldie Locks

Hansel and Gretel threatened by a witch
When all they wanted was to eat her shelter
The brothers Grimm had quite an itch
To write fairy tales about such Helter Skelter

Whether a morning glory or a bedtime story
Or just a fantasy before a short nap
As Snuggles might say "heavens to purgatory"
I hope you all will enjoy a nice little rap

This brought back memories of having my parents read to me. My favorite line was:
Though I really did not give a damn
Where she went, or where it was sure to go
    Made me laugh.

I sure did enjoy this one Michael .. The flow in it was really good, and I was looking for the next stanza to come just to see which childhood story it has in its lines ..

    Great job 5/5
