Deception

by DirtRoadGirl   Jun 28, 2011

Let me tell you a secret,
about a girl I know.
A master of deception,
of emotions that overflow.

She laughs to hide her tears,
and smiles to cover her pain.
She runs from all her fears,
and appears to be okay.

when shes alone its a different story,
the deception slips away.
Alone, the girl you thought you knew,
quickly seems to fade.

Her tears begin to claim her face,
her smile simply breaks.
Her fears begin to surround her,
alone she can't escape.

A master of deception,
who has the whole world fooled.
You'd never know at first glace,
that shes nothing but an actress.

Let me tell you a secret,
about this girl I know.
I see her in the mirror,
as she plasters on the fake.

What a beautiful poem. Sad but lovely. Your expressions in sadness are very moving. I love it.
