Another sunday devotion- JESUS HOLDS US TOGETHER

by maryann   Jun 28, 2011

As I sat around the beach on a warm cosy night. People walked around some in silence, some made too much noise for my liking. As everyone carried on with their life I noticed a group of teenagers trying to make a human pyramid.

As they struggled to hold it together for enough time to take a photo, the person standing in the middle would get tired lose balance and everyone else would lose balance with him and fall. They attempted this a couple of times and then gave up and they never got their photo.

That's our life without Christ, we set our minds on something and invest all our energy into it but as soon as we hit a pressure point, worries, stress, criticism, broken promises, when all these things build up even the strongest person won't be able to stand firm he will just fall apart just like the strongest person that stands at the bottom of the human pyramid.

But us those who are in Christ we have Christ holding us together, gluing us closer to him, in our toughest times.

As said in Colossians 1:17

" He is before all things, and in him all things hold together".

Jesus our savior, redeemer and king is who holds our life together.

He is the beginning and the end, he is the solid foundation of the pyramid that keeps us standing firm attached to our Heavenly Father.

Jesus is the one who keeps there when worries of this world try to break us and tear us apart. He is the hope in our standing before the Father with confidence that evil will not try and change our re-newed mind.

We stand in confidence as we offer our thanks-giving to him.

Jesus he is before all things, before the creation of the first rosebud, the first drop of dew, the first star, the first ray of sunshine. Jesus was and always will be.

He holds together our world and he holds together our Christian faith to the Father above.

It is a comforting thing to know that Jesus will take you the way you are, an unbalanced weak foundation with all your imperfections and faults, but he will never leave you the way you were.

The human pyramid wobbles, shakes and falls apart. But as long as Jesus is walking hand in hand with us we will never be shaken, and as he holds us together we will never fall apart.
