Birth of an Enemy

by PinkyPrincess   Jun 29, 2011

The anger begins to stir
like a boiling hot soup
that burns the tongue
as soon as words are sipped.

A man with a hot temper
will always be out of control.
He preys on his loved ones
without a hint of remorse.

His fierce ego overtakes him,
as he surrenders to gluttony.
A sin is not a sin if you forget,
and he continues on with his life.

The words he screams
echo eternally in my ears.
He was filled with love
but now engulfed in hate.

Fingers used to be intertwined,
but now disintegrate apart.
We appeared to be soul mates,
however; we are more like enemies.

I love this poem. The opening stanza was excellent, and it built towards the end.

I enjoyed how you took me through a sad, and poetic story of this relationship. I liked how you really explained things to the reader. Nice vocabulary!

It moved me, awesome write! 5/5
