Please listen to me Father,
before I go to sleep...
I clasp my hands in desperation,
that Thou wouldst hear me weep...

I need an understanding,
of what Thou asks of me...
I'm afraid I've been so busy,
that I didn't hear You speak...

Please teach me how to listen,
shake me if You must,
drown out this world of nothing,
Your the only one to trust...

I pray that Thou wouldst help me,
for I have dwelt in sin...
Can I start again tomorrow?
and go from there on in?

I know its not that simple,
and I'd need to focus more,
but I want someone to greet me,
when I knock upon Your door...

As I hold my hand out to You,
please take it once again,
and if I come across hardship,
please spare me from the pain...

Lead me through this life,
and show me where to look,
and when You do return again,
my name shall be in that Book...
