I must awaken

by Daisy if you do   Jul 6, 2011

Pomengranate pulp
Stains delicate virgin's flesh
Nectar tempted bees

Pillaged for my thoughts
Nothing sacred in my mind
Pachyderm's trapeze

Tigers hunt for prey
Naked and vulnerable
Fish purge evil after me

Reality stinks
Ego driven arrogance
Opium induced

What a wonderful painting made with the brush of words. It was vivid and imaginative. What a beautiful painter you are :-)

    Kay,

I was extremely impressed by this when I read it. Not only did you nail the task of creating a string Haiku but you described the picture beautifully and your words were a poet version of this Dali painting. You mentioned the many important elements that were symbolic in his painting, the flesh, the virgin, pomegranate, Tigers, and I also thought the insertion of 'Pachyderm' was quite clever, not something I would of thought of and that is why I adored it.

I agree with Britt, this was very creative and I was fond of the first stanza of the string in particular. Though I also really enjoyed the ending, It was a little more simplistic than the first three and it wrapped the entire poem nicely.

The concept and symbolism through this is lovely.
