I did not always get the rhyme but it did not effect the poem, it somewhat fit to the content that it was not completly continious. I think that this is actually a quite good piece for coming out rather spontaneously. I was lucky enough not to get into that situation just yet but the way you described the emotion one feels going through this were imaginable.
