This is a beautiful, beautiful tribute to Mel. Every time I read this I smiled, probably because you captured the reality of who Mel is with this poem. You did an awesome job writing for her, about her, to her and LIKE her! Lol. I know you said you did a lot of research with this one and you can definitely tell. You kicked butt with this, Lu! Love it!

    Lu,

I've read this poem many times now it makes me smile, always. You know I don't have to explain to you how much it touches my heart but I will tell you anyway.

I have to agree with Hellon on this, it possesses dream like qualities and I guess you can say I am a bit of a dreamer. I thought it was lovely how you described my mind, it was artistic and contrasting. Butterfly wings portray elegant and colourful qualities while dark skies is a little different. It was as though you were describing my poetry and artworks in the first stanza as well, dark and light at the same time...

I loved the use of Nereid's, of course to incorporate mythology into a poem that is for me adds a special touch. I thought Nereid's was an excellent choice and I know you're not one for knowing mythology (unless of course I'm making you research it lol) so it would of taken you some time to come up with this one. Areion was also another beautiful choice and clever might I add. Areion was the horse of a poet and so I know you did your research. I also must add I loved that you use elementals I guess here you were representing how I connect nature within my poetry and also my love for them all, earth, fire, air and even water.

    "Sinking her teeth
    into the sweet
    nectar of
    life,"

I adored these lines, something optimistic about it and sweet.

Also, I can't thank you enough for the way you ended the poem. I loved how for many people the term 'Iris' would represent a flower which works well but to me I know it represents the Greek goddess, and the way you portrayed me here was too sweet of you.

Much love always, & forever in my heart.
