Time Flies

by Poempete   Jul 8, 2011

A month has passed now since you died
Your funeral has come and gone
It's been a few days since I have cried
The pain is passing, becoming numb

It doesn't mean I love you less
Or I don't miss you any more
It's just not as painful I confess
When you don't walk in through my door

It's getting over things so small
Like when to put the cards away
The sympathy that's not so tall
Life has turned from black to grey

Life goes on around us now
From time to time we act the norm
Join in with all the laughter, clown
When deep inside our hearts are torn

So please don't think we've forgotten you
We have not and we never will
It's just the hardest part we've gotten through
You've left a gap that can't be filled
