Regret

by AsianInTexas   Jul 10, 2011

My hand reaches out,
trying to grab someone,
Something.

But the devil won't let me,
No,
Not this time.

He just laughs,
as I fall screaming into his pit of death and lonliness.

I focus on my loved ones.
The ones who tried to help,
The ones whom I should have listened to.

But I threw them away,
tossed them around like garbage.

Now look where it got me,
Burning in a pit.
While they look down upon me
From the glory of heaven.

I say my last goodbye,
as their sorrow faces drift away.
Leaving me with nothing but painful memories,
and an eternity of regret.
