Eighty reasons

by DirtRoadGirl   Jul 14, 2011

She stares at her reflection,
seeing every flaw.
Every lack of perfection,
pushing her to her final straw.

She feels all the pain,
from hurtful words echoing in her ears;
All the blows she was forced to sustain,
while she hid from all her fears.

An empty white bottle in her hand,
missing eighty bright red pills.
Something everyone but her will misunderstand,
understanding only that it kills.

They wont understand the eighty reasons why,
this pretty girl will take her life.
And with a muffled cry,
she sinks to the floor and wins her final strife.

Her eighty reasons why,
she was never enough.
Her eighty reasons why,
she didn't feel tough.

Her eighty reasons why,
her love was never returned.
Her eighty reasons why,
she was alway getting burned.

Her eighty reason why,
she never measured up.
Her eighty reasons why,
she felt it was okay to just give up...
