Reminiscing

by Corina   Jul 16, 2011

When moving out of our old house
I was packing up the things into boxes
And packed the girls toys
And letters ad cards from you
I just sometimes sat there reminiscing
On the life we shared with our beautiful daughters.

Now everyone has left except me
I can’t watch my girls grow up
I can’t have girlie talks with them
I can’t help them with their prom night
Or even their wedding.

Baby, I wish you and the girls could come back.
I miss you all very much.
I just lay there on the bed, holding a toy
From both of the girls and a letter
You wrote me when we first started going out.

We had been married for five years
And had two beautiful daughters

Goodbye my loved ones.

I like this, a lot. The title, says it all, and when you get to the poem, wow. A simple poem yet very, very touching, sad in a way. Enjoyed every second reading this. Beautiful.
