Wonders Behold, Look To The Mirror

by Daphne Darling   Jun 22, 2004

Wonders behold, look to the mirror,

Controlled by a machine,
Speed faster than a blink,
When a simple click,
Can take you to another place,
But still sitting in the same place,
When you can fight all out war,
And not one person dies,

Wonders behold, look to the mirror,

When outside is freezing,
Inside it’s hot as an oven,
Watches that tell more than the time,
Phones that act as computers,
When the simplest thing,
Can kill a whole city,
Look at this my crown sings,

Wonders behold look to the mirror,

Reality distorted in rippling pools,
Society ruling the minority,
Computers governing a country,
A people once proud and tall,
Stooped over a monitor,
Humanity’s curse of the technological world,
Children accessing the world,

Wonders behold, look to the mirror,

Husbands and wives on opposite sides of the globe,
In the blink of an eye communicating,
Today’s world governed by the machines,
Mobiles tones off the hook,
Radios that walk around with someone,
Multi-purpose digital devices,
Ruling the average person as they walk,

Wonders behold, look to the mirror.
