The Girl with the Suitcase.

by Brandi Reisher   Jul 21, 2011

The background on my laptop is a meaningful picture to me. Most people would just take it as they see it- a teenage girl walking up a hill with a big old suitcase.
I take it as more because sometimes I feel like that girl. Not just waltzing along with no strings attached, but someone who still has a long way to go, a long life ahead of her, and a lot of things that need done.
Going up a hill is my way of saying that you start at the very bottom with nothing, but you see the top and wonder what it's like up there so you pack your things and go. Sometimes the suitcase gets a little heavy or your legs get a bit tired but you know it will pay off.
The suitcase is like all your troubles. All your insecurities and everything and everyone that's ever hurt you. You still take it all with you on the way even though it's a burden and really heavy. You'll never be able to get rid of it until you're at the precipice of the hill.
That's when you can let it go. When you're as high as you can get and you can almost touch the clouds, you can throw down the suitcase and forget about it and finally say you're there.
