Waiting For Never

by Sydney   Jul 23, 2011

You keep ignoring the fact that my feelings can't hide,
You keep ignoring the fact that for you, I'd die.
You keep ignoring the fact that the truth is a lie,
But are you ignoring the fact that you feel the same inside?

I watch the way your lips move as you talk,
I watch the way your hips sway as you walk.
I watch the way your skin stays as white as chalk,
But do you watch me the same, like a hawk?

I plan out my words with great care,
I plan out my steps with you everywhere.
I plan out the moments where I touch your hair,
But do you plan out your feelings that you won't share?

I smile when I see that you texted back,
I smile when I see the you cut me slack.
I smile when I see you wear my things like a plaque,
But do you smile when you see my world is in black?

You're still ignoring the words that I say are true,
You're still ignoring my happiness when you say something new.
You're still ignoring the thought that we may be through,
But are you ignoring words you want to say: "I love you?"

I know your guard is up like a turret,
I know you think I'm not worth it.
I know you think we're not a sure fit,
But I wish I knew if it's me you'd flirt with.

All you have to do is close your eyes,
All you have to do is let your heart out of it's ties,
All you have to do is let your fears demise,
All you have to do is just realize,
All you have to do is stop looking towards the skies,
All you have to do is bring your eyes down to mine,
But all I have to do is wait for never, which is a long time.
