Playing Soundlessly.

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 24, 2011

Does he know I lay on piles of thorns
from roses I've held too close?
I've wished to send so much more
than high school getaways-
he only sees my eyes for friendship,
not the kind of glances I take,
not the smiles I paint on
just so he'll think I am perfectly alright.

Why can't he see I am empty when he's gone?
He tells me flawlessly about the love he'll cling to
and I lose all breath, watching myself fade
without his song to keep me alive.

He is everything I desire, how will I live without him?
He is the one I see at home, in the middle of night,
wherever my mind begins to deserts me.

The stars kill- comets that burn tearfully
tearing the hot flesh of my heart
and pricking my face clear out of luck.
