Scattering ashes

by Poempete   Jul 26, 2011

Scattering ashes, boy what fun
To say goodbye to a dead loved one
will we throw you out gently with the breeze
Or watch the tide come and take you with ease?

We don't even know if it's you we've got
Sat patiently waiting in a shiny new pot
For all we know it's burnt fag ash
That the parlour has just thrown out with the trash

But we'll take their word cause we want to believe
That it's you we've been given and we're going to release
Will you be compliant and come out ok
Or will you be stuck and stubborn, purposely?

Do I take you brother in my warm hand
And throw you away like some loose soft sand
Or do I turn the pot upside down
And tip you gently onto the ground

Where I know you'll have the last laugh on me
As you will make the wind change to Easterly
It's your birthday next week so were doing it then
To wish you a happy twenty plus ten

I MISS YOU
