The end

by TheFutile   Jul 27, 2011

They say the greatest thing, we'll ever learn.
is just to love and love in return.
but how can we love in this day an age
if were not all thinking on a similar page.

always to consumed with material gain,
to open our hearts to each others pain.
we kill, we steal, we cheat, we lie.
we think we're living until the day we all die,

nothing is ever what it seems to be
everyone wanders to blind to see
the pain we inflict on those we call friend.
the scars we leave that no stitches could mend.

in the end we will all of us rot.
in hell for crimes well burn at the spot
because of lust, greed and power.
I believe humanity will soon see its final hour.

5/5 because your poem is so closely related to what's going on in my life and you have captured it so perfectly. The only thing is to keep an eye on your grammar but either way the message is beautiful.

    I came across this poem,
assuming it would be something different.
When I read it, the words made an impact on me.
    The words, they flowed effortlessly.
    Great job.
