From Promised Wings

From promised wings
A Poem by Orlando Murcia

For some reason...

Every time I look upon your face

there is a heart

in the center

of your majestic features of radiance

Your eyes carry the moon...

Your hair is the lake during midnight

watching itself

through the reflection of the stars

Your smile brings Saturn to his knees

proposes to you with all his rings

so you may be his universe

that all the galaxies may see

I love you

Did you know?

Did you know before the moon?

Before fair autumns spring time cosmic bloom?

Before your sunsets blink of afternoon?

Why did you have to be so beautiful?

Why is it every time I leave your presence

my soul begins to cry ?

I know exactly why

For I 'm in love with you

You came to me

from promised wings

A gift

from heavens

only King

I wouldn't trade you for anyone

or anything

For how stupid of me would it be

to give away

a Queen
